Well it's been awhile but finally got cracking on the jet itself. It's been awhile in posting because I have been pulling my hair out trying to find the right color combos given the warm lighting from the SAM and the cool/darks that the flame lighting doesn't hit (near side surfaces for example). At first i tried mixing an ivory black with a very light yellow and got, imagine that, a greenish hue. I slapped it on the right wing and it looked...green. So that was out. Then I tried white with byrnt sienna and got...brown. So I slapped that over it...and it looked kind of pukey. So decided to go darker - a midnight blue toned down, and put that on the cooler (back) part of the right wing - too dark, but close. So finally tried the light yellow with the Burnt Sienna and got an interesting dull brown grey which I figured I'd try as a glaze with tone variations based on where the light from the SAM played on the wing...and I think i'm on the right track. Now I've gotta mix all that again for the left wing...crikey! Started the spine with variations showing the worn ribbing. Obviously glazes will be the key to the subtle variations in lighting.
